I really didn't think I was going to make it, but I did. I'm a little worse for wear this morning, however, the mountains of candy still sitting at Dr GTL's are NOT in my belly and for that I am a happy girl. I swear the smaller the candy the bigger the pull to eat it. You justify it in you brain, "it's little, it won't make a difference", or "I can have 3 or 4 - no biggie". Ugh. And they just stare at you from the bowl. Tempting you. Mocking you. Screaming at you from the other room, "YOU KNOW YOU WANT ME"....
So, I had a Kit Kat, and it instantly made me sick. Crazy huh? I haven't eaten chocolate since I started the diet really, so now I have determined that, as much as I love it, perhaps it's better saved for really special occasions. This weekend really started on Thursday, I emceed the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center's Annual Gala. I ate well, but good God someone kept filling up my wine glass. One day I'll realize I simply shouldn't drink wine. It's no good for anyone. Aside from the empty calories and sugar, I just wake up feeling like 5 kinds of ass. Friday was a total wash. I could hardly get off the couch and I think I went to bed at 6 or 7. I'm a winner.
Saturday night Dr GTL and I went to a house party at David Wades house. I was Little Red Riding Hood and he was the Big Bad Wolf. We looked pretty damn good. David made some amazing looking baked ziti. It smelled good. That's all I can say as I didn't partake. Not giving in to the carbs!
Sunday I was so stoked to hand out candy to the kiddies. I have lived in the city for the past 8 years of my life where there were no kids, so since GTL lives in the burbs I got to do it. I handed out lots of candy and didn't eat any (except the aforementioned Kit Kat)! Saw some really cute kids and a few that were a little too old to be trick or treating but it was pretty cool. Then it was Boo Bash. Recycled the costume (why not?), GTL stayed home :( but I had fun. The bands were awesome and the costumes were so original!
So now it's Monday, back to the grind. Gonna get a nap, go running, make some good food for dinner tonight, and call it an early night. xoxo
